As Atlanta becomes a more diverse metropolitan city, the cultural events surrounding wine are at an all-time high! Whether you’re looking for a night on the town or a daytime excursion to the nearby vineyards of the north Georgia mountains, there are plenty of wine-soaked activities for everyone. To book tickets to any wine event listed below, just click on the link – I’ve done all the “hard work” for you!
Because there are so many, I’ll list a few North Georgia wine events first:
Not a moment too soon, I found the Georgia Winery’s 4th Annual Luau Wine Fest! It’s this Saturday, June 25th so if you want to go, make your plans now and be ready to party Hawaiian style! Take your chairs and blankets to their outdoor vineyard and relax to live music by or dance the night away in our Tiki Lounge, mesmerized by tropical entertainment. This is obviously a 21+ Wine Event.
Starting in July 2016 and every Friday-Sunday…Looking for something fun and unique to do with your special group of BFFs? Come celebrate the perfect pairing (Wine and Chocolate) with a Three Sisters Vineyards “Chicks & Chocolate” tasting this season – Includes 6 specific wines paired with some artisan chocolates, keepsake wine glass and fun for $25 per person.
On July 6, head to Paradise Hills Winery Resort & Spa for their Women & Wine “Around the World in a Glass” Red Wine 101 $25 PP includes wine and light appetizers
Only an hour away from Atlanta, the North Georgia Wine Tour is a great way to get out of the city for the day and try new wines. You’ll travel by luxury coach to the beautiful mountains of Dahlonega, visiting 3 vineyards – and tasting fees are included in the package! The next “monthly edition” tour is Saturday July 16 at 9:00 am. Follow this link for more information.
Also on Saturday, July 16 is the Clayton Crawl
on Main Street in Downtown Clayton.

For an intown wine experience, head to Murphy’s in Virginia Highlands. Every week, they host a themed wine event such as the Red, White, And Blue Independence Day Wine Tasting coming up on June 28th at 6:30 PM.
Another fine option for the urban dwellers among us is Carroll St. Cafe in the funky Cabbagetown district where, every week, they observe Wine Wednesday with $5 glasses of wine. From 3 – 7:00 PM they also offer a rotating selection of half-price tapas. YUM!
If you’re looking for a more artsy type of wine event, Living Color Atlanta in Sandy springs has got just the ticket! On Friday July 1st is their “Atlanta Fireworks” BYOB Ultimate Paint & Sip Wine Party . They provide the paint, canvas and instruction, you bring the wine!
More of an athlete than an artist? Have no fear! Just a short ride from downtown, you can Sip & Swing for just $29 on Tuesday the 28th at Top Golf Alpharetta. Half golf, half wine mixer, learn and improve your short game shots with a one hour clinic and then it’s Top Golf games, wine sampling and networking. Price includes golf instruction, games and wine tasting. This golf and wine event welcomes the first 20 people who RSVP, so come solo or bring a friend.
I could probably go on for pages listing all the various wine event listings in the ATL, but I think this is a good start. Summer’s here – go forth and get your wine on!
