Are you a committed wine drinker? According to a blog post on the site, Drinking in America, a recent poll found that Millennial wine consumers — those from the legal drinking age to age 35 — are less likely to be repeat buyers of the same type of wine. In fact, only 32% report “sometimes or frequently” purchasing a bottle of wine they’ve had before. It moves up to 40% for Generation X consumers, aged 36-47, who admit to buying a favorite, whereas consumers over the age of 48 are more committed to a brand and report buying the same brand about 50% of the time.
This buyer who is more independent and adventurous with no particular allegiance to a brand, has been called a nomad drinker. Which are you, a committed wine drinker or a nomad? Why?
