Nick Thompson – Inventor
Nick enjoys good company, good food and good wine. After leaving the corporate IT world sixteen years ago, Nick started his own company providing computer support to individuals and small businesses. In 2012, he turned his epicurean interests to winemaking when a friend shared the results of his first home made vintage.
A determined tinkerer, Nick is known as “Mr. Fix It” among family and friends. In his spare time, he tackled one of the major obstacles for home winemakers: removing the CO2 left in the wine as byproduct of the fermentation process. This is called degassing – the solution was the prototype for VinoVinti. Nick did not set out to invent a revolutionary wine accessory; he just wanted to make a good bottle of wine. He continues his involvement with VinoVinti with IT support and as business advisor.
Valerie Morvan – Managing Partner
Valerie shares Nick’s enthusiasm for good food and wine. She has long enjoyed the fruits of Nick’s wine making (they are married, by the way) but did not get *really* interested until she experienced the difference VinoVinti makes in a bottle of wine. She immediately instigated testing VinoVinti on commercial wines with foodie friends and anyone else with discriminating taste buds that she could find.
In 2013, Valerie became a managing partner for VinoVinti. With 18 years’ experience in healthcare marketing, she was ready for a new challenge. She loves working with all the facets of the company from design, to manufacturing, to sales. She is especially proud that the major components of VinoVinti are manufactured locally in Atlanta, Georgia.
